Recent activities

The various co-operative societies of Akkelpur Upazila are working in the field of socio-economic development of individuals, society and the country: 

(1) Increase in employment (direct, indirect and ancillary, self-employment);

(2) elimination of unemployment;

(3) creation of entrepreneurship;

(4) formation of capital; 

(5) increase the revenue of the government; 

(6) assistance in increasing production in agriculture; 

(7) assistance in marketing of goods; 

(8) Activities in education and eradication of illiteracy; 

(9) Sanitation;

(10) Anti-dowry movement;

(11) Tree planting and afforestation;

(12) Assistance in various disasters;

(13) Provision of health services;

(14) Disadvantaged helpless And humanitarian assistance to the elderly;

(15) providing assistance to poor meritorious students;

(17) resolving social disputes, (18) preventing corruption;

(17) taking cooperative-based industrial initiatives; 

(19) Arranging for burial of dead persons etc.
